Last chance to give in 2016 – and to empower WCC’s work in 2017

If you were thinking of making a donation to Western Colorado Congress, here are three reasons to do it now:

1. Set our agenda for 2017. The amount of money we’ve got in the bank at the close of 2016 determines how much we can commit to doing in 2017. The more money in hand, the more ambitious and powerful and effective we can be. Help us to do more!

2. The tax deduction thing. Dec. 31 – which, by the way, is tomorrow – is the last day that your donation will count as a deduction on your 2016 taxes. The more you give, the more you save!

3. Double the impact of your donation. A generous group of WCC donors has pledged to match all extra donations made through Dec. 31, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000. Newsflash: As of Dec. 29, we’ve fully matched the $20,000 challenge yesterday – thank you everyone who helped us release the full amount!

WCC’s mission is to create healthy, sustainable communities, social and economic justice, environmental stewardship and a truly democratic society. Our members have told us what we need to do next year to pursue that mission. We know roughly what it’s going to cost, and we’ve drawn up a bullish budget to do it. But can we afford to do it all? The tally as of Dec. 31 will tell.
