What We Work On

For over three decades, Western Colorado Congress has been unifying Western Slope communities, people, and leaders to organize through democratic participation on issues that matter most in their communities. Most importantly, WCC brings people across lines of race, ethnicity, class, political views and age group to decision making tables, participate in civic engagement, have a voice in policy reform and effectively communicate their concerns to local and state officials, the public and organizations.

Through WCC’s organizational and leadership skills training, people are able to: build community groups, develop leadership, plan strategically, and organize participation on the cause of concern in their life, neighborhood, schools, environment and community. It’s about working together to bring about meaningful, long-lasting change.
